What is the Microbiome?

A healthy gut microbiome has everything to do with eating whole fresh food!

The digestive system is the center of mind and body health, and if we carefully nourish our gut environment- also known as the microbiome- benefits. Our microbiome is made up of trillions of bacteria. These bacteria can be affected by many factors including what we eat, stress, environment, and lifestyle. As no two people have the same microbiome, there is no one miracle diet for the gut.

We do know, that certain macronutrients- complex carbs, soluble fiber, proteins, and healthy fats- are beneficial macro-nutrients. Besides these energy-producing foods, other food also contains varying amounts of vitamins and minerals (micronutrients such as important cancer-fighting anti-oxidants and phyto-chemicals).

Matching the right nutrition plan to a gut in distress can take time and patience. Through experience, experimentation, and exploration we can come up with the best personalized diet plan for you.
